SWYSHHS FOAL ACCUMULATOR
Open to pure bred Shire Horses born in 2022
Participating Shows :–
Honley, Harthill Carnival, Emley, Halifax and Penistone.
Points will be awarded according to the placings of the foal in the foal classes –
(classes may be split into filly and colt – at each shows discretion).
Points awarded as follows: 1st – 5pts , 2nd – 4pts, 3rd – 3pts, 4th – 2pts , 5th – 1pt.
This accumulator competition is open to everyone.
Membership of any of the show societies is not required.
Champion foal from the accumulator will receive £200- kindly donated by SWYSHHS
Reserve Champion foal will receive £100– kindly donated by Messrs R & R Bedford of Hartcliff Shires.

Class 14: SHIRE HORSE OF THE YEAR SUPPORTED BY THE SHIRE HORSE SOCIETY QUALIFYING CLASS
The Horse of the Year Show contribution for 2022 is £16.00 which is payable for each entry in Class 14
ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ENTERED ONTO THE HOYS ENTRY FORM WITHOUT THE CORRECT PAYMENT.
This class is a qualifier for the Shire Horse of the Year Championship, to be held at the Horse of the Year Show from Wednesday October 5th to Sunday 9th October 2022 at the NEC, Birmingham.
This class is open to pure bred fully registered Shires of 2 years old and over entered and exhibited in their appropriate breed classes at Penistone Agricultural Show. All Shires must be entered under the registered owner’s name.
A Grandstand ID number will be required for the owner/handler/exhibitor and horse.
If you have not competed in the Horse of the Year Show qualifiers before, these numbers can be obtained by creating an account on www.grandstandentries.com.
Your entry will need to be completed on an official Horse of the Year Qualifier entry form. This can be found at www.hoys.co.uk. On receipt of your completed entry form, if your Grandstand ID numbers are not detailed, it will be held in a pending file until all of the Horse of the Year Show identification numbers are received.

The Shire Horse Society Young Handler’s Accumulator Award 2022 (No prize money)
Open to Shire Horse Society Junior Members only. Points will be awarded to the top five as follows:
1st 5 points, 2nd 4 points, 3rd 3 points, 4th 2 points, 5th 1 point. Junior Handlers are able to join the Shire Horse Society mid season. Points only count once membership is taken up and points will not be back dated. Junior Memberships are £12 per annum and are open to those that have not attained their 18th birthday.
The 1st prize winner also qualifies for the Midland Shire Foal Society Show, for the Young Handler of the year. If the 1st or 2nd prize winners have previously qualified the qualification will pass down to the 3rd prize winner.
The Highest placed handler not exceeding 16 years old on the day of the show will be awarded a plaque kindly presented in memory of Barbara Judge.
Competitors must be aged 12 years old and not exceed 18 years old on the day of the show. A parent or guardian must be in attendance at the show ring, please inform the Ring Steward on arrival.
Class 16: Any other Recognised Heavy Horse Breed

Class 17: British Ridden Heavy Horse Society Kilmannan Championship Equifest Qualifier.

Open to horses 4 years old and over that are registered in the main British stud books of the Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk or Percheron Society at the time of qualification and must be entered in the name and ownership they are registered in.
Riders of Stallions must be 16 years or over.
The highest placed registered Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk or Percheron in an affiliated ridden heavy horse class to qualify for the BRHHS Championship, qualification to go down no lower than third place.
Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Ridden Heavy Horse Championship to be held at Equifest 2022. No entry fee.
