PLEASE NOTEclosure date may be brought forward if high numbers of entries are received.

INSURANCE – All exhibitors MUST have Public Liability Insurance

PLEASE FOLLOW GATE A SIGNS FOR ENTRY ONTO THE SHOW GROUND

NOTE: All drivers are obliged to cooperate with the parking stewards.  Any vehicles not used for the transportation of livestock must be removed to the public car park

The Penistone Agricultural show reserves the right to refuse entry to those who do not cooperate.

PRIZE MONEY – To be paid by BACS after the show – Please ensure that you have the correct Bank details with you on show day.  Payment to be claimed/paid by no later than Monday 30th September 2024. Any queries regarding prize money awarded to be made to the Cattle secretary by no later than Friday 27th September 2024

ENTRY TICKET ALLOCATION:

Exhibitor tickets to be issued on the basis of:

1 entry = 2 tickets, 2-4 entries = 3 tickets and 5 -6 entries = 4 tickets

Interbreed Champion and Reserve Champion for Commercial Beef, Pedigree Beef, Dairy and Interbreed Pairs will be required to take part in the presentation of Trophies which will be held in front of the Cattle Tent at approximately 3.30pm 

Information & Guidance

Cattle to be on the Show Ground by 9.30am latest and should not be removed from the Showground before 4.30pm.

JUDGING TO COMMENCE 10.00 AM

Exhibits must be available at the time stated for judging and every effort will be made to maintain the time-table but the Secretary/Stewards reserve the right to make alterations.

The Show reserves the right to amalgamate classes if entries are insufficient.

Cattle numbers available on arrival from the cattle passport steward.

Passports are required for all cattle.

Exhibitors are responsible for compliance with DEFRA Animal Health regulations in force at the time of the show.

Cattle to be tied to allotted place

Hay and Straw will NOT be provided by the Show

Walkways must not be obstructed and exhibitors are to keep individual areas clear.

ANTI TAMPERING – The use of tranquillisers, stimulants, or any drugs capable of affecting the performance or behaviour of animals is forbidden.

Dairy Cattle

  • 9 – Dairy Heifer, handler to be aged between 12 – 16 on Show Day
  • 10 – Dairy Heifer, handler to be aged between 17 – 26 on Show Day

  • Handling: 50%  
  • Turnout of Handler 25%   
  • Turnout of Animal:  25% 

The conformation of the animal will not be judged.  The Exhibitor MUST be able to handle the animal independently.
