We are so looking forward to this year’s show.  The forecast for the day is looking good – dry but not too hot – and we have some exciting new innovations for you all.

Open from 8am through to 6pm, the show has something for everybody.  We have a packed timetable full of activities which you can find on the website.  Plus everybody is given a FREE guide which includes a map to help you find your way around the show ground.

We have changed the layout of the showground so that we can incorporate three new DISCOVERY hubs.  Each hub includes a seated area, a bar, food stalls, music and lots of different activities for children to do and find out about.

We have also moved our Vintage Vehicles section closer to Ring 4 so that you can see these older vehicles in action as there are demonstrations happening throughout the day. We will also be holding a baling demonstration in that ring.  We have been turning the grass all week to do this.

We also have the traditional competitive classes ranging from poultry, sheep, cattle and show jumpers through to farrier demonstrations, jam making, handicrafts and horticulture. There’s also Live cookery demonstrations, dog shows, brass bands, trade stands and children’s entertainment.

Well behaved dogs are admitted as long as they are kept on a lead at all times.  They aren’t allowed in the marquees however. Please make sure you that you plan your journey as the later you leave it to arrive, the busier it will be.  After all, it is an extremely popular and well attended show. Trains and buses are just a short walk from the show ground.  We are also just off the trans Pennine cycle path should you with to come on your bike! If you are coming by car, the postcode is S36 6DW. However once you arrive, there will be signs for the show ground and it’s best then to turn off your sat nav.  We operate a FREE parking scheme.
