About the Penistone Agricultural Show

The 2023 show was once again brimming with entertainment, competitions, information and activities. There was a huge array of livestock competitions, farm machinery, food demonstrations, handicraft, homecraft and horticulture competitions, craft stalls, music, bars, vintage vehicles, rural crafts, dog show, food stalls and trade stands.

We are all volunteers, running this community event and charity. If you would like to be part of the show in any capacity please get in touch with us! We are always looking for more help and the satisfaction on show day is very rewarding.

We are a volunteer-led charity with a positive attitude. We expect our staff and the public to treat one another with politeness and mutual respect. Nobody should be subjected to violent, threatening or abusive behaviour. Anybody falling below this expectation will be asked to leave.

DirectionsHow to get to the show

There is free parking available near to the Show Field. From the main entrance, the bus station is 300 metres and the train station is just half a mile away.

There are regular bus services from and to Barnsley, Sheffield, Huddersfield, Stocksbridge (see Travel South Yorkshire). Also there are regular trains from and to Sheffield, Huddersfield, Barnsley, Leeds, Manchester (see Northern Rail).

By road, the Showground is only 15 minutes from the M1, 10 minutes from the A628 Woodhead pass and 30 minutes from Huddersfield. 

Once you approach Penistone you will see signs clearly directing you to the car parks. The postcode is S36 6DW.
