Exhibitors must ensure their animals are available when their section is called. |
Arrival of Stock
All cattle must be on the showground no later than 9.00am on show day and must not leave before 4.30pm without permission from the Cattle Secretary.
Please follow ‘Gate A’ signs for entry onto the showground.
All drivers must cooperate with show stewards. Any vehicles not used for the transportation of livestock must be removed to the public car park.
The Society reserves the right to refuse entry to those who do not cooperate or who are abusive towards stewards or show volunteers.
Bulls must be handled in accordance with HSE Guidance – Notes GS36 ‘safe custody of bulls at agricultural shows.’ All bulls over the age of 10 months to be ringed or led by bulldogs.
Insurance
All exhibitors MUST have public liability insurance.
Passports
All cattle passports must be presented on arrival at the Cattle Secretary’s Tent.
Animals must comply with current DEFRA and APHA regulations.
Judging
Judging will commence at 10.00am prompt in the cattle ring.
Exhibitors must ensure their animals are ready when called to the ring.
The Judge’s decision is final.
Prize Money
Prize money will be paid via BACS.
Prize money cards must be completed with bank details on show day and handed in to the Cattle Secretary’s Tent.
Failure to return a completed card may result in delay or forfeiture of prize money.
Any queries regarding prize money should be directed to the Cattle Secretary no later than Friday 25th September 2026.
Trophies
Trophies may be collected from the Cattle Secretary following the Grand Parade.
All trophies must be signed for upon collection.
Trophies remain the property of the Society and must be returned prior to next year’s show.
Supreme Championship
All cattle sections will be eligible to compete for the Supreme Interbreed Championship, excluding Young Handler classes and dairy classes.
Animals must be presented in the ring when called or the award may be forfeited.
Health and Welfare
The Show reserves the right to refuse entry to any animal considered unfit for exhibition.
All animals are exhibited entirely at the owner’s risk.
Cattle must be tied in their allocated place in the cattle tent.
Hay and straw will not be provided by the Show.
The use of tranquilisers, stimulants or any drug capable of affecting the performance or behaviour of animals is strictly forbidden.
TB and Movement Regulations
All cattle must comply with current TB testing and movement regulations applicable at the time of the show.
It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to ensure their animals are eligible to travel to and from the showground.

The conformation of the animal will not be judged. The Exhibitor MUST be able to handle the animal independently. 1st Places from Classes 8-10 will be eligible to take part in the champion dairy young handler.
