About the Show
Penistone Agricultural Show
The Penistone Agricultural Show is a fantastic day of discovery for everybody. Open from early morning through to dusk, the Penistone Agricultural Show really does have it all. We have a full timetable of activity and so it’s best to arrive early, plan your day and make sure that you don’t miss out on any of the many attractions that we have in store for you.
Held on Saturday 14th September, the show is organised solely by volunteers and attracts an average of 18 000 visitors. You can experience agricultural life through live machinery and craft demonstrations as well as the competitive classes and demonstrations ranging from poultry, pigs, sheep, cattle, goats and show jumpers through to farrier demonstrations, jam making, bee keeping, handicrafts and flower arranging.
We also have cookery demonstrations, live music, brass bands, a bar, Grand Parade, entertainment and children’s activities. There are also working traction engines and vintage agricultural machinery for you to see in action.
Everybody who comes on the day will be given a free Show Day Guide which includes a map of the show ground as well as a timetable of the day’s entertainment. Classes start in the main ring from as early as 8am with judging of the other sections starting shortly afterwards.
With over 200 quality trade stands and a wide variety of on-site catering outlets for you to enjoy, we’re sure we have something for everybody to enjoy a full day out. Well-behaved dogs are admitted on to the show field as long as they are kept on a lead at all times.
Please make sure that you plan your journey as the later you leave it to arrive, the busier it will be. After all, it’s an extremely popular and well-attended show. Trains and buses are just a short walk from the show ground and if you are coming by car the postcode is S36 6DW. We operate a free parking scheme.
We’re looking forward to seeing you!
